\u00a0<\/strong>As part of its “Stronger Together<\/a>” corporate responsibility\u00a0programme, Ferrovial is cooperating with the Sant Joan de D\u00e9u Hospital<\/a> (Barcelona) to provide aid to disadvantaged families with hospitalized children; also, with ONG RESCATE Internacional<\/a>, it is developing a drinking water system at a school and health centre in Gode (Ethiopia).<\/p>\n

Participating Ferrovial employees donate a portion of their wages to a specific social project from a shortlist chosen by a committee of experts. The company matches the total contribution from employees. This year more than 100,000 euro has been raised, i.e. 11% more than last year, which will be enough to fund both projects.<\/p>\n

“Ferrovial employees have again demonstrated their commitment to society in the most recent edition of the Stronger Together programme by supporting projects that help people in need,” said Juan Francisco Polo, Head of Communications and Corporate Responsibility at Ferrovial.<\/p>\n

The agreement with Sant Joan de D\u00e9u Hospital aims to provide assistance such as food subsidies, housing, transport, medicine, prostheses and interpretation services for disadvantaged families with children in the hospital. A total of 3,200 people will benefit from this project.<\/p>\n

The collaboration with ONG RESCATE Internacional will ensure access to drinking water for students and teachers at the school and health centre in Gode, who will receive breakfast, lunch and clean water every day. Additionally, classes will be given on health and sanitation in connection with food.<\/p>\n

Since Stronger Together commenced in 2005, the company and its employees have donated more than 850,000 euro to various projects. To date, the program has assisted with building schools in India, Madagascar and Burundi, a hospital in Peru, well-digging in Chad, and food security in Lebanon.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
