Amey<\/a>,\u00a0Ferrovial Services\u0092<\/a> British subsidiary, has been named preferred bidder to take on a highways maintenance contract with\u00a0Calderdale Council<\/a> worth up to \u00a3120m.<\/p>\n

Amey has been Calderdale\u0092s highways maintenance and street lighting provider since May 2000, and this announcement signals the start of new five year contract with Calderdale Council providing a wider range of services. The contract will begin in October 2012 for 5 years, with the option to extend for up to 15 years. The contract involves the maintenance of 1,100km of road, 36,000 street lights as well as providing drainage, winter maintenance and emergency highway operations, on behalf of the council.<\/p>\n

Amey recently completed financing for its infrastructure maintenance contract with\u00a0Sheffield City Council<\/a>, worth over \u00a32b; it also has a contract with\u00a0Birmingham City Council<\/a>. These projects are part of the\u00a0Intelligent Cities strategy implemented by Ferrovial Services.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
