Ferrovial<\/strong><\/a>, through the Energy Solutions area<\/strong><\/a> of its Construction division, has been awarded the contract for the LED renovation<\/strong>, management, maintenance, and delivery of outdoor public lighting in the municipality of Santiago de Compostela<\/strong>, Spain.<\/span> The ten-year contract is worth \u20ac42 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Under the format of an energy services contract<\/strong> (ESCO), the project, which will be executed jointly with Endesa X Servicios, includes upgrading over 30,000 streetlights<\/strong> in this designated World Heritage city with LED lamps, and 535 controllers, as well as other installations on public roads. The scope of work also includes deploying a platform to manage the operation and maintenance of public lighting throughout the city. In terms of innovation, the project will incorporate a 5G system<\/strong> for incident management and resolution.<\/p>\n

The company will apply its zero-kilometer commitment<\/strong> by purchasing equipment and materials from local suppliers<\/strong>. It will also support the Slowlight initiative<\/strong>, which advocates for sustainable lighting, and will contribute to reducing light pollution so as to protect the night sky.<\/p>\n

Ferrovial Energy Solutions <\/strong><\/h2>\n

As part of Ferrovial’s firm commitment to sustainability<\/strong> and in line with its Horizon 24 plan<\/strong><\/a>, which includes a commitment to creating businesses that are complementary to its core activity, the company has established an Energy Solutions area within its Construction division. The goal of this business unit is to execute turnkey projects for solar and wind power plants, and to strengthen Ferrovial’s core activities in the energy transmission and distribution and energy services fields.<\/p>\n

The company has other projects in the area of public lighting,<\/strong> such as managing lighting in Aranjuez (Madrid), Pincanya (Valencia), Motril (Granada), and upgrading the lighting systems in Haro (La Rioja), Alcazar de San Juan and Miguelturra (Ciudad Real), El Rosario (Tenerife), Aracena (Huelva) and X\u00e1tiva (Valencia). This Ferrovial division has also been awarded contracts to build renewable energy infrastructures<\/strong> in Spain and Chile, including a 200 MWp solar photovoltaic plant<\/strong> in Badajoz (Spain)<\/strong> and the Cabo Leones wind farm (Chile).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\n
