{"id":122679,"date":"2023-10-06T14:26:12","date_gmt":"2023-10-06T12:26:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/?post_type=press_release&#038;p=122679"},"modified":"2024-11-05T19:48:06","modified_gmt":"2024-11-05T18:48:06","slug":"ferrovial-aberdeen-airport-named-transport-hub-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"press_release","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/press-releases\/ferrovial-aberdeen-airport-named-transport-hub-of-the-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrovial Aberdeen International Airport named Transport Hub of the Year at UK National Transport Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>One of Ferrovial\u2019s UK assets, <strong>Aberdeen International Airport<\/strong> was recognised as the UKs <strong>Transport Hub of the Year<\/strong> at the 20th anniversary of the National Transport Awards in Westminster last night.<\/p>\n<p>Gateways to regions and at the very core of business and economic activity, the winner of the Transport Hub of the Year category was selected based on quantitative evidence including customer satisfaction levels, safety levels, punctuality data and surveys.<\/p>\n<p>Aberdeen International Airport\u2019s work following the passing of Her Majesty the Queen last year was recognised by the judges.<\/p>\n<p>The service provided by Aberdeen International Airport to passengers with <strong>reduced mobility<\/strong> was also <strong>highlighted,<\/strong> The UK\u2019s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) gave the airport the highest rating possible of \u201cVery Good\u201d for its consistent and <strong>high-quality service<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Miguel Rodera, Ferrovial Airports Asset Management Director for AGS, <\/strong>said: \u201cMy congratulations to the entire AGS team, especially everyone at Aberdeen Airport. We are incredibly proud of the active role our airports take in advancing connectivity and improving capacity whilst understanding their responsibility to deliver an excellent passenger experience and living legacy with and for the communities we serve. To see their work recognised in this way is excellent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark Beveridge, Operations Director at Aberdeen International Airport and Southampton International Airport<\/strong>, said: \u201cWe are absolutely thrilled to win the Hub of the Year Award. Passengers are at the heart of everything we do and charity partnership with Kayleigh\u2019s Wee Stars and We Too! is a perfect example of what our airport can do for as well as providing the connectivity that helps our region thrive in a global facing economy.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The awards were announced at a ceremony attended by over<strong> <em>500 industry professionals<\/em><\/strong> where both <strong>Aberdeen<\/strong> and <strong>Glasgow<\/strong> Airports had been shortlisted for four awards including Best Practice in <strong>Diversity,<\/strong> <strong>Inclusivity<\/strong> and <strong>Accessibility<\/strong> as well as Lee McCann, Communications Manager, being named Highly Commended in the Frontline Employee\/Community Champion category for the charity partnership with Kayleigh\u2019s Wee Stars and We Too!<\/p>\n<p>Richard Holden MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport provided the keynote speech for the event hosted by broadcaster Jeremy Vine.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
