The Dow Jones STOXX Sustainability Indexes comprise a selection of the companies in the Dow Jones STOXX 600 which have the best performance in terms of sustainability. The selection process is conducted in line with guidelines defined by Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes and subject to external review. Other Spanish companies in the DJ Sustainability indexes include BBVA, SCH, Telef\u00f3nica, Iberdrola, Endesa and Inditex (the last two were added in the latest review).<\/p>\n<p>The components examined in each of the dimensions are as follows: <strong>Economic<\/strong> (corporate governance, investor relations, strategic planning, risk management, code of conduct, etc.); <strong>Environmental<\/strong> (disclosure in annual report, environmental management and performance, recycling and efficient energy use policies, etc.); <strong>Social<\/strong>, focused mainly on human capital, human resources management, disclosure in the annual report, safety and health policy, and social involvement in the surrounding community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Committed to sustainable development <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ferrovial\u00b4s stated management priorities include respect for the community and the environment. Its Annual Report 2001 sets out its triple bottom line (financial, environmental and social); in the environmental area, Ferrovial was the first construction company in the world to develop and implement an Environmental Management System and to publish and Environmental Performance Index. Since April 2002, Ferrovial has been a member of the United Nations Global Pact under which it is committed to promoting and respecting the nine universal principles in the area of human rights, labor
