The contract, which involves the management and maintenance of the British armed forces construction machinery and vehicle pool, is worth 600 million pounds (897 million euros) over the 15-year concession period.<\/p>\n<p>The contract, to be awarded under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI), will be managed by Amey Lex Consortium, which involves Amey in cooperation with RAC (specialised in defence fleet management and logistics). The contract involves maintenance, repair and acquisition for the entire fleet of approximately 3,800 vehicles, including construction machinery (cranes, diggers, bulldozers, etc.) as well as plant and equipment used in engineering projects. Services will mainly be provided to the British Army and will include units to support the Royal Air Force and the Royal Marines.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to managing and optimising the dimension and utilisation of the construction machinery pool, the consortium will provide associated services, including spare part and inventory management, IT systems, equipment documentation, and operator and instructor training.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One of the leading services companies in the UK<\/strong><br \/>\nAmey is one of the leading services companies in the UK, focusing on comprehensive infrastructure maintenance (highways, railways and underground rail) and facility management. It is also one of the largest and most experienced players in the field of private sector development and financing of infrastructure and services for government under the PFI and PPP formulae.<\/p>\n<p>Amey owns 66% of Tube Lines, a company with a 30-year contract to maintain and renovate three London Underground lines (Jubilee, Northern and Picadilly).<\/p>\n<p>In 2004, Amey attained 1,382,9 million euro in revenues and EBIT amounted to 74.8 million euro.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
