Its \u201cOn the Move for Water\u201d and \u201cOn the Move for Zero Hunger\u201d projects, <strong>with more than 10 million euros allocated since 2011,<\/strong> reflect Ferrovial\u2019s commitment to<strong> making a positive impact on people\u2019s lives by creating value and fostering progress<\/strong> in the communities where it operates.<\/p>\n<p>In 2026, Ferrovial will collaborate with Manos Unidas, Fundaci\u00f3n Recover, Fundaci\u00f3n Agr\u00f3nomos sin Fronteras, and San Juan de Dios Spain to <strong>provide access to clean drinking water in developing countries in Africa and Asia<\/strong>, and to improve social dining facilities in Spain, thereby improving access to quality food for people at risk of social exclusion,<strong> benefiting more than 30,000 people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At a recent event in Madrid, Cecilia Pilar Gracia, President of Manos Unidas; Gonzalo Aldamiz, Patron of Fundaci\u00f3n Recover; Gabriel Guzm\u00e1n, President of Agr\u00f3nomos sin Fronteras; and Josep Pifarr\u00e9, General Director of San Juan de Dios Spain, joined Ferrovial\u2019s Chairman, Rafael del Pino, and CEO, Ignacio Madridejos, to sign these agreements and share their thoughts on the projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>On the move for water:<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Basic water access infrastructure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the latest data from the United Nations and the World Health Organization, nearly 2.2 billion people worldwide lack access to safely managed drinking water, and 3.5 billion also lack access to sanitation services. These factors are critical for the health, education, and economic development of communities. In response to this situation, Ferrovial has been promoting projects that construct, rehabilitate, and improve water and sanitation infrastructure in vulnerable communities across Africa, Latin America, and Asia for more than 15 years, in collaboration with Spanish NGOs. In addition to financing the projects, <strong>the company offers its professionals&#8217; expertise and encourages employees to volunteer, bringing technical excellence and experience to these cooperation projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2026, in collaboration with Manos Unidas, Ferrovial will facilitate access to drinking water in 15 villages in the state of Rajasthan (India), by designing and installing water infrastructure tailored to each community&#8217;s specific needs.<\/p>\n<p>Another initiative will be carried out in the city of Foumban, Cameroon. Together with Fundaci\u00f3n Recover, Ferrovial will rehabilitate the water supply, sanitation, and waste management system at Njiss\u00e9 Hospital, in the western region of the country. This infrastructure will include a system for water capture, solar pumping, storage, and purification, to ensure safe drinking water at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in Kinyika (Tanzania), Ferrovial and Fundaci\u00f3n Agr\u00f3nomos sin Fronteras will build a well and a water-capture system, together with treatment and storage facilities, and will equip the local school and healthcare center with latrines to guarantee basic hygiene conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>On the move zero hunger:<\/em><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>upgrading food pantries<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the Move for Zero Hunger program was launched in 2012, following the economic crisis, with the aim of supporting organizations that fight hunger and malnutrition in the country, which affect the most vulnerable groups. Since its launch, <strong>this project has provided dignified, accessible, and safe food to 90,000 people<\/strong> by financing and refurbishing infrastructure, such as social canteens and food banks.<\/p>\n<p>For this edition, Ferrovial will refurbish San Juan de Dios social canteen in Granada, installing an access ramp, renovating the shower area, and upgrading the canteen facilities to improve safety, accessibility, and efficiency. The facilities serve more than 8,000 people every year.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
