Specifically, the project has been recognized for its work since 2020 in three settlements near the city of Huaral in Lima, Peru. These awards, organized by the NGO CODESPA, have recognized, since 1997, the commitment of companies, journalists, and organizations to creating opportunities and fostering inclusive progress in countries around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>On the Move for Water program supports three projects every year in developing countries<\/strong> in Latin America, Africa, and India with the goal of ensuring access to clean drinking water and making a positive impact on local communities.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrovial CEO Ignacio Madridejos received the award from His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain, Honorary President of CODESPA, during a ceremony held in Madrid. \u201cWe are very proud to receive this recognition for our <em>On the Move for Water<\/em> program, a key component of our commitment to communities. At Ferrovial, we view <strong>social action as an extension of what we do best<\/strong>; that is why we not only promote the development of infrastructure that facilitates access to water but also contribute to the project through the involvement of our professionals as volunteers. Since 2008, more than <strong>175 employees have collaborated<\/strong> on 46 projects that have improved access to water for some 400,000 people in 15 countries,\u201d said Ignacio Madridejos.<\/p>\n<p>The project in three settlements in Huaral has included the rehabilitation and expansion of water supply networks, the installation of pumping and chlorination systems to ensure water quality, and the training of local residents to manage and maintain the service. To carry out the project, <strong>14 Ferrovial employees volunteered<\/strong> their time and contributed their technical expertise on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative has substantially improved access to drinking water in the settlements of Nuevo Huaral, El Angel, and Contigo Per\u00fa, directly <strong>benefiting more than 4,170 people<\/strong>. The project was carried out in three phases between 2019 and 2025, and has helped reduce health risks among the population, improve families\u2019 quality of life, and create economic development opportunities in one of the most vulnerable areas on the outskirts of Lima.<\/p>\n<p>With this recognition, Ferrovial reaffirms its <strong>commitment to sustainable development and the creation of shared value<\/strong> in the communities where it operates, aligning its social initiatives with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, particularly those related to access to clean water and sanitation, health, well-being, and partnerships for sustainable development.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
