{"id":1402,"date":"2010-04-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-04-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/press_releases\/ferrovial-signs-global-telecommunications-it-services-agreement-with-telefonica\/"},"modified":"2022-12-21T12:17:46","modified_gmt":"2022-12-21T11:17:46","slug":"ferrovial-signs-global-telecommunications-it-services-agreement-with-telefonica","status":"publish","type":"press_release","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/press-releases\/ferrovial-signs-global-telecommunications-it-services-agreement-with-telefonica\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrovial signs global telecommunications and IT services agreement with Telef\u00f3nica"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The deal is a further step in the company&#8217;s innovation process.<\/li>\n<li>Telef\u00f3nica will provide and manage fixed and mobile telecommunications and leading-edge information technology services in 49 countries from a single Global Management Centre in Madrid.<\/li>\n<li>With this project, Ferrovial is defining a key component that will support its international expansion both flexibly and uniformly as it extends its concessions throughout the world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ferrovial has chosen Telef\u00f3nica as global supplier of telecommunications networks and information technology (IT) services for all its businesses worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement includes managing voice, data and mobile networks as well as managing and maintaining the company&#8217;s entire computer network infrastructure. The goals of the strategic agreement include upgrading the networks, deploying the next generation of network technology, and centralising management of communications and IT services.<\/p>\n<p>The main features required by Ferrovial include considerable capacity for expansion and a high degree of flexibility to develop a broad range of next-generation IT services. The agreement provides for end-to-end management of all Ferrovial employee workstations, its printing platform (over 1,000 printers and 700 servers), local area networks (over 30,000 ports), Wi-Fi accesses (over 500 WLAN points), e-mail and integrated security solutions for browsing and secure remote access to corporate applications. It also covers managing 10,000 IP telephony users, 30,000 mobile handsets and 5,000 mobile units in Ferrovials transportation and logistics fleet, as well as control devices at remote sites.<\/p>\n<p>A distinctive feature of the agreement is that all services will be managed from a Global Services Management Centre in Madrid. This new centralized management model will guarantee the delivery and management of communications and IT services.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrovial CEO \u00cd\u00f1igo Meir\u00e1s commented that &#8220;this strategic agreement will enable us to advance in the technological process in which the company is immersed.
