Mr P\u00e9rez Tremps is also stepping down from the Board. His retirement comes after completion of the merger with Cintra on 7 December.<\/p>\n<p>Santiago Ortiz Vaamonde, 42, holds a PhD in Law from Complutense University of Madrid and is a former Spanish State Attorney, having ranked first in the entrance examinations. Before joining Ferrovial, he was a partner of the Cuatrecasas law firm in charge of Trial Law and Public and Regulatory Law. He has also worked at the Ram\u00f3n y Cajal law firm and has taught at the Diplomatic School and Carlos III University.<\/p>\n<p>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda P\u00e9rez Tremps holds a degree in Law and he is a former legal adviser to Spain&#8217;s Council of State. He joined Ferrovial in 1990 and for nineteen years he played a key role in the group&#8217;s development, specifically in the areas of legal structure and corporate governance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a planned handover. Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda P\u00e9rez Tremps has played a vital role in Ferrovial. The company&#8217;s history over the last twenty years, including the IPO, diversification and internationalization, could not have been written without his contribution, which was decisive at all times. I am convinced that Santiago Ortiz is the right person for this position because of his qualifications and professional experience, as evidenced over the last year-and-a-half in which he has acted as Legal Counsel to the group&#8221;, said I\u00f1igo Meir\u00e1s, CEO of Ferrovial.<\/p>\n<h3>FERROVIAL<\/h3>\n<p>Ferrovial is one of the world&#8217;s leading infrastructure groups, with over 100,000 employees in 49 countries and operations in a range of complementary sectors including construction, airport and toll road management and maintenance, and municipal services.
