{"id":1478,"date":"2014-04-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-04-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/press_releases\/ferrovial-best-value-proposer-i77-north-carolina\/"},"modified":"2025-01-27T10:55:59","modified_gmt":"2025-01-27T09:55:59","slug":"ferrovial-best-value-proposer-i77-north-carolina","status":"publish","type":"press_release","link":"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/press-releases\/ferrovial-best-value-proposer-i77-north-carolina\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrovial-led consortium named apparent best value proposer of North Carolina\u2019s I-77, for 655 million dollars"},"content":{"rendered":"    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>Ferrovial, a trav\u00e9s del consorcio liderado por su filial Cintra Infraestructuras, ha sido seleccionado por el Departamento de Transporte de Carolina del Norte (NCDOT) por proponer la mejor oferta para el dise\u00f1o, construcci\u00f3n, financiaci\u00f3n, operaci\u00f3n y mantenimiento de la ampliaci\u00f3n de la autopista I-77 por un importe total de 655 millones de d\u00f3lares (alrededor de 478 millones de euros).\u00a0 Cintra ser\u00e1 responsable del desarrollo de este proyecto cuyo dise\u00f1o y construcci\u00f3n estar\u00e1 a cargo de una UTE que incluye a Ferrovial Agroman y a la constructora estadounidense W.C. English.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEs un privilegio para Cintra ser parte de la soluci\u00f3n al problema de congesti\u00f3n de tr\u00e1fico en Charlotte, Carolina del Norte\u201d, declar\u00f3 Enrique D\u00edaz-Rato, consejero delegado de Cintra.<\/p>\n<p>El per\u00edodo de concesi\u00f3n de la nueva infraestructura es de 50 a\u00f1os a partir de la apertura al tr\u00e1fico. En los pr\u00f3ximos meses se espera alcanzar el cierre financiero del proyecto. Los trabajos de construcci\u00f3n comenzar\u00e1n a principios de 2015.<\/p>\n<p>El dise\u00f1o comprende la ampliaci\u00f3n de calzadas, en ambos sentidos, a lo largo de 26 millas (41,8 kil\u00f3metros) de la autopista I-77 en el \u00e1rea metropolitana al norte de Charlotte, entre las conexiones con la I-277 en Charlotte y la NC-150 en Iredell County. Con la finalidad de mejorar el tr\u00e1fico, en una de las zonas de mayor crecimiento del Estado, se reconstruir\u00e1 la autopista existente, a\u00f1adiendo capacidad al crear carriles de peaje electr\u00f3nico variable (managed lanes), que ayudar\u00e1n a reducir la congesti\u00f3n y mejorar el funcionamiento del corredor.<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto se divide en tres segmentos: en el tramo sur, de 2,2 millas (3,5 km), se rehabilitar\u00e1 la secci\u00f3n existente y se ampliar\u00e1 la autopista para disponer de dos carriles de peaje electr\u00f3nico en cada direcci\u00f3n. En el tramo central, de 14,9 millas (23,8 km), se rehabilitar\u00e1n los carriles existentes y se construir\u00e1n otros de peaje adicionales para crear dos managed lanes por sentido. Para el segmento norte, de 8,8 millas (14,2 km), el consorcio construir\u00e1 un nuevo carril adicional por sentido dedicado a peaje electr\u00f3nico.<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente, los carriles de peaje electr\u00f3nico son el sistema m\u00e1s avanzado, seguro y fiable del mercado. Al no tener barreras, los veh\u00edculos no deben detenerse. Adem\u00e1s, mediante un sistema de tarifas din\u00e1micas, el concesionario deber\u00e1 asegurarse que la velocidad media en el tramo de peaje electr\u00f3nico sea superior al 80% de la velocidad establecida en el libre.<\/p>\n<p>Con este proyecto, la inversi\u00f3n gestionada por Cintra en Estados Unidos se acerca a los 10.400 millones de euros. Otros consorcios encabezados por Cintra est\u00e1n desarrollando la ampliaci\u00f3n de las autopistas NTE y LBJ Express, en Texas; y operando las autopistas Chicago Skyway, Indiana Toll Road y SH130.<\/p>\n<p>Cintra, filial de Ferrovial, es una compa\u00f1\u00eda l\u00edder en la promoci\u00f3n privada de infraestructuras de transporte en todo el mundo, por n\u00famero de proyectos y por volumen de inversi\u00f3n. Actualmente gestiona 2.150 kil\u00f3metros de autopista, repartidos en 26 concesiones en Canad\u00e1, Estados Unidos y Europa. Cintra es el mayor accionista de la concesionaria de la autopista 407 ETR, en Ontario, Canad\u00e1, con una participaci\u00f3n del 43,23%.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
