Ferrovial Services<\/a> has been selected by the Galicia Regional Government<\/a> Health Service<\/a> to deliver a range of non-medical services at the Ourense University Hospital Complex<\/strong> (CHUO). The 15-year contract, worth 146 million euro, encompasses energy supply, maintenance, cleaning and security services<\/strong> for the Nosa Se\u00f1ora do Cristal, Santa Mar\u00eda Nai and Santo Cristo de Pi\u00f1or hospitals. The complex has an extension of 119,566 squared metres and 852 beds. Around 3,000 people work in it.<\/p>\n

In the area of energy efficiency,<\/strong> the company will upgrade the facilities to optimise performance, at no cost to the Administration. Primary energy consumption will be reduced by over 15%, while CO2 emissions will be reduced by more than 53%. Ferrovial Services will also implement quality indicators for the services and supplies and will report regularly on attainment of the targets.<\/p>\n

“This contract strengthens Ferrovial Services’ position in the hospital management area,” said Ignacio Gast\u00f3n, general manager of Ferrovial Services Spain. The company is currently expanding and upgrading the Valdecilla Hospital in Santander<\/strong><\/a> and delivering non-medical services there under a 20-year contract. It is also in charge of maintenance of the La Paz hospital<\/strong><\/a> in Madrid and Virgen del Roc\u00edo<\/strong> hospital in Seville.<\/p>\n

Ferrovial Services is a key player in the field of energy efficiency, as evidenced by the agreement with the City of Bilbao to manage sports facilities under Bilbao Kirolak<\/strong>, where it has cut energy costs by 25% while reducing gas consumption by 38% and electricity consumption by 15%. Ferrovial also has a cooperation agreement with MIT<\/strong> <\/a>to develop projects aimed at improving energy efficiency in buildings and public lighting systems.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
