El consorcio formado a partes iguales por Ferrovial Agroman<\/a>, filial de Ferrovial, y la brit\u00e1nica Laing O\u2019Rourke<\/a>, ha sido seleccionado por London Underground<\/a> para el dise\u00f1o y la construcci\u00f3n de la ampliaci\u00f3n de la l\u00ednea Northern Line<\/strong>, en el Metro de Londres. El contrato ha sido ya firmado por ambas partes. El proyecto, que alcanza un valor de 500 millones de libras (unos 628 millones de euros), tiene prevista su finalizaci\u00f3n\u00a0 en el a\u00f1o 2020.<\/p>\n

Ferrovial Agroman y Laing O\u2019Rourke ampliar\u00e1n la l\u00ednea Northern Line desde la estaci\u00f3n de Kennington, en el sur de la ciudad. Los trabajos incluyen la construcci\u00f3n de dos nuevas estaciones<\/strong>, Nine Elms y Battersea, con dos pozos de ventilaci\u00f3n adicionales, y un t\u00fanel de 6 kil\u00f3metros con un di\u00e1metro interno de 5,1 metros.<\/p>\n

La nueva infraestructura cubrir\u00e1 un nuevo \u00e1rea donde trabajar\u00e1n 25.000 personas y residir\u00e1n 16.000 familias, acortando a menos de 15 minutos el trayecto hasta el West End y la zona de negocios de la City, y reduciendo el tr\u00e1fico de pasajeros en la estaci\u00f3n de Vauxhall.<\/p>\n

Con esta nueva adjudicaci\u00f3n, Ferrovial vuelve a evidenciar su capacidad para la construcci\u00f3n de sistemas subterr\u00e1neos de transporte. Actualmente el consorcio participado por Ferrovial Agroman est\u00e1 desempe\u00f1ando un papel fundamental en el desarrollo de Crossrail<\/strong>, con la excavaci\u00f3n de dos t\u00faneles, la construcci\u00f3n de la estaci\u00f3n de Farringdon y la realizaci\u00f3n de los accesos y cavernas de las estaciones de Bond Street y Tottenham Court Road. Crossrail, el mayor proyecto de ingenier\u00eda civil que se est\u00e1 desarrollando en Europa, incrementar\u00e1 en un 10% la capacidad ferroviaria de Londres.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, recientemente el consorcio en el que participa Amey, filial de Ferrovial Servicios, fue seleccionado para operar y mantener durante seis a\u00f1os y medio el Docklands Light Railway<\/strong>, la red de tren ligero del este de Londres, por 700 millones de libras.<\/b><\/p>\n <\/div>\n
