The project represents an investment of USD 125 million. The double circuit 220 kV line will link three substations. The contract includes building one of them.<\/p>\n<p>The project, which will form part of Chile\u2019s national power transmission system, seeks to\u00a0<strong>strengthen the grid<\/strong>\u00a0in order to support the numerous renewable energy generating facilities (wind and solar) being developed in the area. Ferrovial will be in charge of construction work, to be completed within 48 months. Once the works are finished, the operation period will start.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ferrovial in Chile<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The deal strengthens Ferrovial\u2019s position in the Chilean power transmission business. In September 2016,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/press_releases\/ferrovial-enters-electricity-transmission-business-with-the-acquisition-of-transchile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ferrovial acquired Transchile<\/a><\/strong>, which operates a 204-kilometer power transmission line in southern Chile.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrovial has been operating in Chile since 1995, in the Toll Roads, Services, Construction and Airports businesses. Ferrovial Agroman played a leading role in building Santiago Metro line 6, which was inaugurated in December 2017: it built 3,000 meters of tunnel and seven of the ten stations. It is currently building the Universidad de Chile station, on line 3, and new accesses to the Tobalaba station, on line 4. The Services division works with the mining industry through subsidiary\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.steelferrovial.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Steel Ferrovial Servicios<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
