Broadspectrum<\/a>, the Australian subsidiary of Ferrovial Services<\/a>, has appointed Nick Miller <\/strong> to the position of Chief Executive Officer; he will fully assume these functions in May. Since 2010, Miller has been Managing Director of Fulton Hogan<\/a>, a construction and services company that operates in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, having spearheaded the company’s expansion and consolidation<\/strong> in the region.<\/p>\n

In his 25-year career, Nick Miller has served on the boards of companies and professional associations, such as the Australian Contractors Association (ACA)<\/a>, Coleridge Downs, Ltd. and Orion New Zealand<\/a>. Miller is a civil engineer; he is a member of the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand<\/a> and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fidel L\u00f3pez, the current CEO of Broadspectrum, will work closely with Miller to ensure a smooth handover. After a lengthy career in Ferrovial’s Services and Airports divisions, L\u00f3pez joined Broadspectrum to lead its integration into Ferrovial Services following the acquisition in 2016. During this time, he has contributed decisively to transforming Broadspectrum<\/strong>, strengthening its financial position and reinforcing the corporate culture in order to seize business opportunities. Fidel L\u00f3pez is to rejoin Ferrovial in an executive position.<\/p>\n

Broadspectrum: four business units<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Broadspectrum reorganized its activities into four business areas (Government, Utilities, Natural Resources, and Transport<\/strong>) in Australia and New Zealand, while its operations in the US, Canada and Chile were integrated into Ferrovial Services International. The company achieved 1.732 billion euro in revenues in first nine months of 2017, with a backlog of 4.022 billion euro.<\/p>\n

In recent months, Broadspectrum has expanded its contracts with the Australian Ministry of Defence<\/a> and energy company Shell-QGC<\/a>, where it has enhanced its footprint in the area of facility maintenance and energy. The company is to participate in its first major road maintenance contract since joining Ferrovial Services: Western Road Upgrade<\/a> in Melbourne, which was recently awarded to the Netflow consortium<\/a>, comprising Cintra<\/a> and Plenary<\/a>, for 1.8 billion Australian dollars (1.150 billion euro).<\/p>\n

Ferrovial has a presence in the Construction, Toll Roads and Services businesses in Australia, where it has over 14,000 employees. It also has a stake in the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing toll road.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
