Budimex<\/a>, Ferrovial’s<\/a> Polish subsidiary, has signed two new contracts to design and build roads in Poland that together are worth 660 million zlotys (about \u20ac155 million). The first contract, in consortium with Strabag<\/a>, will consist of building the Tuszyn – Piotrk\u00f3w Trybunalski – Be\u0142chat\u00f3w section of the A1 motorway for 390 million zlotys (approximately \u20ac91 million euro).<\/p>\n

The A1 connects the city of Gda\u0144sk with the Czech Republic and is part of the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T) and the Gda\u0144sk\u2013Brno\/Bratislava\u2013Vienna Motorway axis. The new section will also provide new exits to Warsaw from the road to \u0141\u00f3d\u017a.<\/p>\n

This new section, to be built by Budimex, is approximately 16 kilometers long and is to be completed in 32 months.<\/p>\n

The second contract signed by Budimex, worth 271 million zlotys (approximately \u20ac64 million), consists of designing and building the Podg\u00f3rze – Kamie\u0144 section of the S19 highway, to be completed in 34 months. This 10.5-kilometer section will form part of the Via Carpathia, connecting Podg\u00f3rze with Kamie\u0144. This investment is part of the S19 Nisko Po\u0142udnie – Soko\u0142\u00f3w Ma\u0142opolskie P\u00f3\u0142noc road project. Via Carpathia begins in Lithuania, passes through such countries as Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria, and concludes in Greece.<\/p>\n

The company will be in charge of designing and building a two-lane highway with emergency lanes. Work includes junctions with existing roads, bridges, overpasses, animal crossings, green areas and sound barriers.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
