Sin embargo, en verano, con la luz solar, el cristal se sobrecalienta produciendo una sensaci\u00f3n muy distinta a la apetecible. A\u00fan as\u00ed, la belleza innegable de las grandes fachadas acristaladas, unida a la luminosidad que se experimenta cuando se trabaja dentro, hace que sea una opci\u00f3n m\u00e1s popular cada d\u00eda dentro de la arquitectura actual.<\/p>\n<p>El hecho de que los cristales se calienten en verano puede representar un serio problema en pa\u00edses con gran irradiaci\u00f3n solar, como Espa\u00f1a, al requerir cada vez m\u00e1s y m\u00e1s instalaciones de aire acondicionado, caracter\u00edsticas t\u00edpicas de edificios poco eficientes o sostenibles.<\/p>\n<p>Afortunadamente, para los amantes de estas fachadas, la innovaci\u00f3n ha irrumpido a\u00f1adiendo agua. Un grupo de investigadores de la Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Madrid (UPM), est\u00e1n desarrollando un sistema para refrigerar las ventanas, a\u00f1adiendo una c\u00e1mara de 1cm a trav\u00e9s de la cual circular\u00eda agua transportando el calor fuera del mismo. Con este tipo de instalaciones, los edificios con fachadas acristaladas podr\u00edan ahorrar hasta un 70% en aire acondicionado.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores tambi\u00e9n han creado una empresa spin off en el seno de la UPM llamada Inteliglass.
