Heathrow ha recibido el t\u00edtulo de <em>Private Sector Fleet of the Year<\/em> en la categor\u00eda de medianas y grandes empresas, compa\u00f1\u00edas con una flota de veh\u00edculos superior a 250 que han reducido la emisi\u00f3n de CO2 gracias a la implantaci\u00f3n de programas de eficiencia energ\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n<p>Este reconocimiento se suma a las nominaciones que ha recibido el aeropuerto tanto para el <em>Energy Management Award<\/em>, que se otorgar\u00e1 pr\u00f3ximamente en los Edies\u2019 Sustainability Leaders Awards, como para el premio <em>Best in passenger transport<\/em>, que se entrega en los <a title=\"National Air Quality Awards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.airqualitynews.com\/awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">National Air Quality Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Estos tres reconocimientos son el resultado del esfuerzo constante que el aeropuerto ha realizado en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os para mejorar la calidad del aire en su entorno, consiguiendo reducir las emisiones de los aviones que aterrizan y despegan a diario en el aeropuerto durante los \u00faltimos cinco a\u00f1os en torno a un 16%.<\/p>\n<p>Para lograr este objetivo, el aeropuerto de Heathrow ha desarrollado un ambicioso plan de fomento del transporte p\u00fablico en el aeropuerto, y ha invertido en su flota de veh\u00edculos y en tecnolog\u00eda con el fin de reducir las emisiones causadas por las aeronaves y por la propia actividad corriente del aeropuerto.<\/p>\n<p>En un plazo de cuatro a\u00f1os, el aeropuerto planea invertir un total de 5 millones de libras \u2013alrededor de 6,9 millones de euros\u2013 en la sustituci\u00f3n de su flota de coches y furgonetas por veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos o h\u00edbridos para mejorar estos resultados. Una iniciativa podr\u00eda reducir hasta en 100 toneladas las emisiones de di\u00f3xido de carbono que realiza Heathrow al a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
