Y dado que muchas aerol\u00edneas utilizan Dubai como escala, no sorprende que esta ciudad-Estado en constante crecimiento quedara en segundo lugar. Un peque\u00f1o salto sobre el mar de Irlanda nos lleva al tercer destino, Dubl\u00edn, con \u00c1msterdam y Hong Kong completando este top 5.<\/p>\n<p>Los pasajeros que viajaron <strong>el d\u00eda 30 de junio contribuyeron a hacer que fuera el d\u00eda m\u00e1s concurrido jam\u00e1s registrado en la historia del aeropuerto<\/strong>. Wembley, Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge y Anfield se podr\u00edan haber llenado a rebosar con los 259.917 expectantes viajeros que transitaron por Heathrow en tan se\u00f1alado d\u00eda. En 2017 se transportaron<strong> 1,7 millones de toneladas m\u00e9tricas de carga<\/strong>. El equivalente a 283.333 elefantes africanos. Y todo este equipaje fue transportado por <strong>78 millones de pasajeros<\/strong>, haciendo del 2017 el a\u00f1o m\u00e1s concurrido del aeropuerto de Heathrow desde que comenzaran los registros. Fueron 76.500 empleados los encargados de cuidar de esos 78 millones de pasajeros.<\/p>\n<p>El a\u00f1o pasado, el aeropuerto gestion\u00f3 <strong>474.033 vuelos<\/strong>, con una media diaria de 1.299. Las pistas de aterrizaje norte y sur tienen una longitud de 3,9 y 3,5 km, respectivamente. Los aficionados al deporte de correr o fans de Usain Bolt sabr\u00e1n que este atleta tardar\u00eda algo m\u00e1s de seis minutos en recorrer la pista m\u00e1s larga si corriera constantemente al ritmo de su r\u00e9cord mundial de los 100 metros (9,58 segundos o 44,72 km\/h).
