Las m\u00e1quinas perforadoras tienen una longitud de 120 metros y pesan unas 1.300 toneladas. La tuneladora se baj\u00f3 hasta el fondo de un pozo de 53 metros de profundidad en Kirtling Street. Una vez all\u00ed, la m\u00e1quina se coloc\u00f3 con precisi\u00f3n en un t\u00fanel de acceso pre-excavado. Cuando haya finalizado su labor, todo el t\u00fanel central de 12,5 km se alinear\u00e1 con 7.000 anillos prefabricados de hormig\u00f3n, cada uno de los cuales pesar\u00e1 casi 40 toneladas y estar\u00e1 compuesto por 7 segmentos.<\/p>\n<p>El t\u00fanel direcci\u00f3n oeste cuenta ya con m\u00e1s de 2.000 m de largo y pasa por debajo del Puente Albert en el extremo occidental de Battersea Park.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n    <section class=\"image-section \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n        <figure class=\"image-section__figure\">\n            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/krtst-west-tunnel-2-e1563886511257.jpg\" title=\"Tunel Oeste\" alt=\"Foto del interior de un t\u00fanel con 2 operarios caminando dentro\" class=\"image-section__image\">\n                    <\/figure>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>Thames Tideway Tunnel es el mayor proyecto de infraestructura jam\u00e1s realizado por la industria h\u00eddrica del Reino Unido. Es esencial para hacer frente a los desbordamientos de las alcantarillas victorianas de Londres al T\u00e1mesis, al menos durante los pr\u00f3ximos 100 a\u00f1os. El proyecto generar\u00e1 m\u00e1s de 4.000 empleos sostenibles y otros 5.000 de forma indirecta. Tambi\u00e9n ofrecer\u00e1 cientos de puestos en pr\u00e1cticas laborales, lo que supondr\u00e1 un legado duradero para la ciudad.<\/p>\n<p>La secci\u00f3n central del proyecto, adjudicada en agosto de 2015, corre a cargo de la empresa conjunta de Ferrovial Agroman y Laing O&#8217;Rourke.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
