El contrato incluye el control del tr\u00e1fico, la respuesta ante emergencias, el cobro del peaje y el mantenimiento.<\/p>\n<p>El t\u00fanel, de un solo carril, lo comparten autom\u00f3viles y trenes que viajan en ambas direcciones entre la ciudad portuaria de Whittier en la bah\u00eda de Prince William Sound y la autopista Seward Highway. Con este dise\u00f1o singular, y siendo con 4 kil\u00f3metros de longitud el m\u00e1s largo de este tipo de t\u00faneles de Norteam\u00e9rica, cuenta con ocho refugios con sistemas de ventilaci\u00f3n individuales y suministros para emergencias. Adem\u00e1s, es el primero en EE.UU. en emplear ventilaci\u00f3n por turbinas de propulsi\u00f3n y ventiladores en las entradas; adem\u00e1s, es el primer t\u00fanel dise\u00f1ado para soportar temperaturas de hasta -40\u00baC y vientos de hasta 240 kil\u00f3metros por hora.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n    <section class=\"image-section \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n        <figure class=\"image-section__figure\">\n            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/controllers1-e1564406190244.jpg\" title=\"Controllers1\" alt=\"Foto de un controlador de espaldas rodeado de monitores\" class=\"image-section__image\">\n                    <\/figure>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n    <section class=\"wysiwyg text-editor \" id=\"\">\n        <div class=\"container container--narrow container--p-10\">\n            <p>El centro de control del t\u00fanel tambi\u00e9n gestiona el flujo del tr\u00e1fico mediante un ordenador de recogida de datos y supervisi\u00f3n (SCADA, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) con el que controlan los sem\u00e1foros que regulan el tr\u00e1fico en las zonas de espera en los extremos del t\u00fanel. Ferrovial Servicios tiene 28 trabajadores en el t\u00fanel, la mayor\u00eda de los cuales son t\u00e9cnicos de mantenimiento, operadores del t\u00fanel y personal de peaje, pero 25 de ellos son, adem\u00e1s, bomberos.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de una brigada de bomberos y personal de operaciones, entre los empleados de Ferrovial Servicios hay tambi\u00e9n personal de peaje y t\u00e9cnicos de mantenimiento. El personal de peaje se encarga de clasificar los m\u00e1s de 240.000 veh\u00edculos que pasan por el t\u00fanel cada a\u00f1o y de recaudar sus pagos. El equipo de mantenimiento se encarga de que los sistemas el\u00e9ctricos y mec\u00e1nicos dentro del t\u00fanel, los refugios, los dos edificios de las bocas del t\u00fanel, el centro de control del t\u00fanel, los dos aseos y el almac\u00e9n\/edificio de mantenimiento est\u00e9n en buenas condiciones. El departamento de bomberos, por su parte, se centra en la extracci\u00f3n de las v\u00edctimas atrapadas mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de grandes herramientas hidr\u00e1ulicas que cortan las carrocer\u00edas.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n
