Amey tiene una participaci\u00f3n del 40% en el consorcio.<\/p>\n<p>Amey y Keolis ser\u00e1n responsables de la operaci\u00f3n y el mantenimiento de las infraestructuras de la red, con una extensi\u00f3n de cerca de\u00a0 60 millas (100 kil\u00f3metros) y 93 paradas, as\u00ed como de 120 trenes.\u00a0 El contrato entrar\u00e1 en vigor en julio de 2017, a\u00f1o en el que se completar\u00e1 el proyecto de ampliaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s reciente de Metrolink. Asimismo, durante el periodo de vigencia del contrato, se llevar\u00e1 a cabo la construcci\u00f3n de la<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>l\u00ednea<strong> Trafford Park Line<\/strong>, que se prev\u00e9 que entre\u00a0en operaci\u00f3n alrededor de\u00a02020\/21.<\/p>\n<p>Inaugurado en 1992, Metrolink es la <strong>red de metro ligero m\u00e1s extensa de Reino Unido.<\/strong> Cuenta con siete l\u00edneas que unen el centro de la ciudad de M\u00e1nchester con otros municipios de su \u00e1rea metropolitana y con el aeropuerto. Transporta a 37 millones de pasajeros anualmente.<\/p>\n<p>Con esta nueva adjudicaci\u00f3n, Ferrovial, a trav\u00e9s de Amey, fortalece su posici\u00f3n como uno de los principales contratistas en el <strong>sector ferroviario<\/strong> en Reino Unido. Junto con Keolis, realiza la \u00a0operaci\u00f3n y mantenimiento del <a title=\"contrato Docklands Light Railway (DLR)\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/es\/notas_prensa\/operacion-mantenimiento-docklands-light-railway\/\">Docklands Light Railway (DLR)<\/a>, una red de tren ligero en el este de Londres, desde
