Ferrovial’s Polish branch Budimex has been awarded the design and construction of the beltway in the city of Suwalki, located in the northeast of Poland, as part of a tender from Poland’s National Road and Highway General Directorate ( Generalna Dyrekcja Dróg Krajowych i Autostrad).
According to Expansión, the construction of the highway will take 34 months and will consist of a 12.8 km stretch of highway that will surround the city from west to north as well as the construction of cross roads and the expansion of existing roads that will connect the beltway with Augustow. The latter became operational in 2014 and was also built by Budimex.
The publication adds that the cost of construction of the highway in Suwalki will be 243.5 million zlotys (approximately 60 million euros).
