Amey is managing the road network and other infrastructure for the city of Birmingham

Birmingham City Council has entrusted Amey with the management and maintenance of its road network, as well as other key infrastructure in this city. This ‘Private Finance Initiative’ (PFI) is the largest contract of its kind signed to date by a city in the UK. Through this contract, Amey provides services to a total of one million residents, including the management of 2,500 km of road network, 5,000 km of pavements and around 850 highway structures and bridges across the city. It also includes the management of the city’s lighting, with around 100,000 street lights. In addition, it will maintain various green areas, totalling an area of 5.5 million m2 and nearly 100,000 trees.
