Ferrovial held its Investor Day in London today. The event, titled “Cintra, a unique investment opportunity”, was attended by company executives, including CEO Íñigo Meirás, Cintra CEO Enrique Díaz-Rato, and Ferrovial CFO Ernesto López Mozo. The session, attended by more than a hundred analysts, was aimed at showcasing Cintra's capabilities, performance and future prospects to the international investor community.Speakers gave a detailed review of Cintra's business model, the company's capabilities as an operator of highly complex projects, the robustness of its portfolio, and its main assets, such as Highway 407 ETR in Canada and the managed lanes projects in Texas. Ferrovial also examined future growth prospects linked to new projects and the challenges posed by technological innovations that will mature over the next few years, such as Big Data, self-driving cars and shared-use mobility.“Cintra's asset portfolio presents huge value creation potential, based on both the quality of our projects and the management capacity of the teams operating them," said Enrique Díaz-Rato, Cintra's Chief Executive Officer. “The company has excellent prospects for profitable growth, especially in highly complex concessions, due to the broad range of opportunities that are due to come on the market, coupled with our own unique competitive advantages,” he added.Through Cintra, Ferrovial has 27 concessions in 10 countries that represent 20.8 billion euro in managed investment, making it a leader in toll road concessions and one of the largest transport infrastructure operators in the world.In the concessions market, Cintra's strategy is focused on highly complex projects and availability payment projects. The company has identified 60 concession projects in its main markets, such as the US, Canada, Australia and the UK, over the next 3 to 5 years.Ferrovial won its first toll road concession, the Bilbao-Behovia highway, in 1968. In 1993, it notched up its first international project: the Buga-Tuluá-La Paila toll road in Colombia. Cintra has been operating in North America since 1999, when it acquired Highway 407 ETR in Toronto (Canada), and has since become the largest private investor in toll roads in the United States. In 2017, it won the I-66 toll road concession in Virginia, the largest managed lanes project allocated to a private operator.
