- Microsoft and Ferrovial have renewed their strategic alliance to further extend the scope of digitalization and innovation in sustainable infrastructure
Ferrovial, a leading global infrastructure company, has taken a significant step forward to improve its productivity by implementing Copilot, Microsoft’s artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, in its work centers in more than 15 countries around the world.
Ferrovial was part of the global community that evaluated the capabilities of Microsoft Copilot in its pilot phase. Following this experience, which involved more than 300 employees and saved an average of 90 minutes per week per employee, the company has decided to extend the use of Copilot throughout the company by means of an ambitious scaling program aimed at enhancing productivity and the employee experience.
Ferrovial aspires to become a company in which all employees use generative artificial intelligence to develop new skills, optimize collaboration between teams, make more impactful use of AI, and free themselves from routine tasks to focus on value-added activities.
The partnership in generative AI, which Ferrovial and Microsoft are now extending until 2027, has been maturing and expanding gradually into different sectors and initiatives. Since 2022, the two companies have been working together closely on digitalization and innovation solutions for sustainable infrastructures, including the implementation of advanced cybersecurity capabilities, infrastructure sensorization to facilitate more efficient management, and the use of tools to collect and manage all sustainability information.
The new AI capabilities that Microsoft offers Ferrovial include the creation of AI assistants and large language models (LLM), as well as customization of Copilot for Microsoft 365 through Copilot Studio. These new technologies, which make work easier and boost employee productivity, are also a differential factor when it comes to talent attraction.
Microsoft and Ferrovial are also collaborating in the development of Zero Trust cybersecurity models. Microsoft Copilot for Security, a generative artificial intelligence tool for security, provides Ferrovial with the ability to detect and mitigate cyber threats and assess risk exposure quickly to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of critical information in all its activities.
