- The company has been among the most sustainable Construction and Engineering companies in the world for 23 years
Ferrovial has been for the second consecutive year as the most sustainable company in the Construction and Engineering sector in Europe, according to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). The index, compiled annually by S&P Global, is viewed as an international sustainability benchmark and one of the most prestigious in the world in this area.
“Ferrovial delivers road, airport, and energy infrastructure that creates high value for the communities where they are located, contributing to their well-being and socio-economic growth. Our consistent inclusion in DJSI World for more than two decades confirms our unwavering commitment to sustainability, our long-term approach and the innovative efforts of our teams to increase the positive impact of our operations,” said Ignacio Madridejos, Ferrovial CEO.
This year, Ferrovial has been ranked in second position of the DJSI World following a comprehensive analysis of its performance in the environmental, social and economic dimensions. Ferrovial has been listed continuously in this index for the last 23 years.
S&P Global has particularly highlighted the risk management and internal mechanisms implemented by Ferrovial to ensure the effective implementation of its code of conduct. The index also highlighted its policy of promoting and defending human rights.
Sustainability as a pillar
Ferrovial features in leading sustainability indices such as CDP, ISS ESG, Moody’s, Sustainalytics and GRESB, highlighting the company’s best practices in this area. In keeping with this commitment, the company continues to make progress on its 2030 Sustainability Strategy, structured around three key pillars: environment, community and governance. This approach led Ferrovial to become the first company to obtain AENOR certification for its strategic alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
