Ferrovial, through Webber, its U.S. construction subsidiary, has been awarded three contracts in Texas for USD 265 million (equivalent to approximately 240 million euros). The projects reinforce its presence in the state and the country, a strategic market for the company.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has selected Webber for the project to expand SL 335 in Amarillo District, a contract worth USD 134 million (equivalent to approximately 121 million euros). The initiative comprises 5.6 miles of main lane extension and frontage road construction. Construction will begin in June of this year and is expected to be completed in late 2026.

The subsidiary will also undertake the widening of SH 99 in Houston District, from West Park Tollway to IH-10 in Katy, with a value of USD 90 million (equivalent to approximately 82 million euros). The project includes the broadening of 6.5 miles of the main lane, as well as the expansion of numerous bridges. Completion is expected in mid-2025.

For the third project, the company will broaden SL 378 in San Angelo District, with a value of USD 40 million (equivalent to approximately 36 million euros). It will reconstruct two miles of the road to make room for a new, continuous center lane that will assist in alleviating traffic congestion. Construction will begin in August and is set to be completed by 2026.

With these three contracts, Webber is developing 35 heavy civil works contracts in Texas, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The subsidiary was recently awarded a contract worth 278 million euros to widen a highway in North Carolina and another 118-million-euro contract to widen SH 36 in Texas. It also participates, together with Ferrovial Construction, in the I-35 project in San Antonio, worth 1,273 million euros.
