Asturias Water Consortium has awarded to Cadagua the operation, maintenance and conservation service of the public sewerage and wastewater treatment system of the Lower Basin of the Nalón river CAA/2019/127 for 4 years plus 1 possible one-year extension.

It treats waterwaste from the municipalities of Soto del Barco, Muros de Nalón, Pravia and Salas, including 4 EBAR (pumping stations), 14 spillways, 10 spillways-EBAR and 1 spillway-chamber.

Soto del Barco EDAR is designed to treat discharges of an equivalent population of 20,832 inhabitants, the plant has a maximum instantaneous pretreatment capacity with screening, desanding and degreasing of 480 l/s and a storm tank. In addition, it has a biological treatment by prolonged aeration with biological elimination of nitrogen and phosphorus with a peak capacity of 180 l/s. The facilities are complemented by a water reuse system for irrigation and industrial washing and a sludge line designed for sludge dewatering by means of belt filters.

This award reinforces Cadagua’s leadership position in operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants, particularly in Asturias, where it was awarded the contract for the Baíña WWTP less than a year ago.
