The $228.9M project will improve the safety of the I-16/I-75 corridor within the City of Macon.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) awarded the contract for the I-16/I-75 Improvement Project Phases 4 and 5 in Macon, GA valued at $228.9 million to a joint venture between Webber, LLC and United Infrastructure Group Inc.

The I-16/I-75 Project will improve the safety of the corridor by widening and reconstructing 4.588 miles on I-16/404 East and West Bound beginning at I-75/SR 401 and extending to Walnut Creek within the City of Macon. The project will include work on 21 bridges in the area and a complete reconstruction of the I-16/I-75 interchanges. This will improve the interstate highways by constructing wider shoulders, concrete barriers and, in most locations, additional lanes. A collector/distributor (CD) road system will be constructed parallel to both I-16 and I-75.

The project has been divided into 9 stages with work expected to begin this summer and reach completion in late 2024.
This is the first joint venture between Webber and United. Webber opened an office in Atlanta in 2019 and employs about 100 employees in Georgia, between its subcontractor work for Ferrovial Construction US on the Transform 285/400 project in Atlanta and Webber’s first hard-bid win in Georgia in 2020 on the I-75/SR 401 improvement project in Clayton and Henry Counties. United has been building projects in Georgia for decades and is currently working on several GDOT projects including US 1 over the Altamaha River in Toombs County and US 221 over I-20 in Columbia County.
