This is the first time that Ferrovial has been chosen for the FTSE4Good (Footsie for Good) index, which includes companies from around the world with a commitment to corporate responsibility. In addition to being the only Spanish company among the 42 new entrants, Ferrovial is the only Spanish construction group that was selected.
FTSE4Good assesses companies” social responsibility based on their actions for sustainable development and respect for human rights. The analysis, performed by Fundación Ecología y Desarrollo, is based on an exhaustive questionnaire drafted by European agency EIRIS (Ethical Investment Research Service).
This is another major step for Ferrovial in its corporate responsibility strategy, after it renewed its presence in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI), one of the world”s leading sustainability benchmarks, for the fourth year running, on 7 September.
