For the sixth consecutive year, Ferrovial has been included in the Dow Jones European and worldwide sustainability indices: Dow Jones Stoxx Sustainability and Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. Both are leading benchmarks of companies committed to sustainable development.
The index line-up was released today in Zurich; Ferrovial’s inclusion is a recognition of its sustainability strategy and the integration of that strategy into business activities, particularly finance and risk management.
“We are very satisfied to have completed six consecutive years among the world’s leading companies recognised by analysts for their long-term approach and maximum commitment to sustainability,” said Joaquín Ayuso, CEO of Ferrovial.
Valentín Alfaya, Ferrovial’s Head of Quality and Environment, noted that inclusion in the DJ sustainability indices is an acknowledgement of the group’s pioneering position worldwide in implementing environmental management systems and socially-responsible business strategies.
“Analysts have highlighted Ferrovial’s ability to integrate sustainability with day-to-day business decisions,” Alfaya noted. “This is also recognition of the company’s innovation and leadership in such areas as corporate governance, comprehensive risk management, measurement of environmental performance, care for biodiversity, implementation of social outreach projects, and work-life balance for employees.”
Ferrovial is also a member of the FTSE4Good index and is one of the world’s top 100 sustainable companies according to a league table drawn up by Business Week magazine and Innovest Strategic Value Advisors.
