Ferrovial was the largest contributor to the Climate Certificates project sponsored by the 7th National Environmental Congress (CONAMA). Ferrovial, which was actively involved in the congress, contributed 5,500 euros.
The initiative was aimed at compensating for the CO2 emissions generated by attending the meeting and was especially aimed at drawing attention to the problem of greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, and the importance of complying with the Kyoto Protocol.
Photovoltaic power system
The money raised to buy the Climate Certificates was used to finance the renewable energy project presented by Spanish environmental group Ecologistas en Acción, which consists of installing a grid-connected photovoltaic power system in a home in central Madrid.
