Madrid, 1 July 2011- The European Outsourcing Association (EOA) distinguished Ferrovial with the IT Outsourcing Project of the Year Award for 2011. The EOA highlighted the quality, approach and negotiations behind Ferrovial's two outsourcing programs, arranged with Telefónica (communications) and HP (rationalization).
Specifically, the EOA praised the programmes' financial approach, which includes strategic changes in acquisition and sales operations, based on a pay-as-you-go approach, thereby enhancing the company's flexibility.
The EOA also underlined Ferrovial's strategic approach and the speed with which it clinched both deals as well as its attitude to change, which required integrating processes from different businesses and countries.
The company's project to transform and overhaul its technology was also commended; it will be executed directly by the outsourcers.
Federico Flórez, General Manager of Information Systems, expressed his satisfaction with the accolade: "The two outsourced programs posed a significant challenge until we found the optimal strategic approach."
Juan Luis Rodríguez Sánchez del Álamo, Chairman of the EOA in Spain, congratulated Ferrovial, saying that "this project brought together very complex requirements in record time" and that the most remarkable aspect of the project was the financial model implemented in both programmes. "It is an innovative, flexible model which will benefit Ferrovial's dynamic business strategy."
