Ferrovial wins contract to maintain and improve north Londons road network

Ferrovial logo Amey, a leading support services company, today announced it has been awarded an approximately £280 million contract by Transport for London (TfL) to provide road maintenance and improvement across north London. The contract terms for six year terms, with yearly increments up to the ten-year mark. Ameys role will be to act as a network operator and build upon TfLs current investment in improving the capitals road network. Through the contract Amey will provide routine highway maintenance (agreed in advance), reactive operations and additional maintenance and improvement capital works as instructed by TfL. This new approach will allow for better coordination between TfL and Amey and will enable a tailored standard of service for the area that will result in an improved service to TfL and the general public. As a winning bidder, Amey proved one of the best and most economically advantageous tenders based on the quality of service provision, risk mitigation and price. Amey, presence in the infrastructure market The Amey, Lagan and Ferrovial Agroman (ALF) consortium was today announced as Provisional Preferred Bidder for the Department for Regional Development Roads Services DBFO (Design Build Finance Operate) Package 2 contract. The 30-year project, with a capital value of over £250M. Amey provides other important road upkeep services, such as the contract obtained early this year to maintain, manage and operate the network of main roads in south-west Scotland. The 150 million pound project runs until 2011, with the possibility of a 2-year extension. It involves managing, operating and maintaining 600 kilometres of toll roads and highways, over 400 kilometres of trunk roads and around 1,800 structures. Amey, one of the UK's leading services companies, is specialised in infrastructure maintenance (roads, rail and underground) and facility management. Its main contracts include the maintenance and modernisation of three London Underground lines for a period of 30 years.
