Madrid, July 12, 2011.- Ferroser, the Ferrovial Servicios subsidiary specialized in infrastructure and building maintenance and upkeep, has renewed its contract to provide facility management services at the headquarter offices of IMSERSO (Institute for the Elderly and Social Services) and at its Data Processing Centre (DPC). The relationship between Ferroser and IMSERSO dates back 25 years. Ferroser was also recently awarded contracts to provide maintenance and management services for Aguas Bilbao Bizkaia plants, the Palma de Mallorca Airport and the University of Cantabria.
IMSERSO renewed its contract with Ferroser to manage its headquarter offices at Avenida de la Ilustración (Madrid). This contract, which is worth 2.4 million euro, has been expanded to include facility management services at IMSERSO's headquarter offices as well as at its Data Processing Centre.
The contract reflects the growth of Ferroser's services offering, which includes maintenance through to facility management and all services which are not part of the client's core activity. One of the services Ferroser offers is energy efficiency management, which provides clients with significant savings through energy consumption reduction.
Other contracts
Ferroser will provide maintenance services for Aguas Bilbao Bizkaia's sewage treatment plants in Lamiko and Galindo and its wastewater treatment plant in Galindo. These contracts are worth over 2.2 million euro.
The company was also awarded maintenance service contracts for runways and platforms at Palma de Mallorca airport and the University of Cantabria campus buildings, and it will manage ancillary services for several hospitals and healthcare centers. These contracts are worth more than 5.4 million euro.
Ferroser provides the following services: maintenance and end-to-end management (facility management, energy efficiency and industrial facility management) and comprehensive upkeep of transport and municipal infrastructure (roads, airports, lighting, signage). Ferroser has a workforce of more than 15,000. It manages close to 7,500 kilometers of roads and over 6 million square meters of buildings and facilities. In 2010, the company obtained revenues of 547 million euro and EBITDA of 41 million euro.
