Ferrovial Agroman and Cadagua, subsidiaries of the Ferrovial Group, will be the companies responsible for building the new La Reguerona Waste Water Purifying Station in Gijón (Asturias), for an amount in excess of Ptas 3.5 billion (Euros 21.04 million). The new plant, which will supply a population equivalent to 385,000 inhabitants in West Gijón, forms part of the Sanitation Plan for the Asturian municipalities of Gijón and Carreño, drawn up by the Confederación Hidrográfica del Norte.

The new plant, located within the Abroño Terminal Station, will purify a flow of 138,000 cubic meters/hour of water every day and will include heavy-load biological treatment and thermal drying of mud.

Cadagua: works order book of Ptas 72 billion

In Asturias, Cadagua has just started up the Villapérez plant and is building in a joint venture with Ferrovial Agroman– the Ribadesella purifying station. Notable amongst Ferrovial Agroman and Cadaguas most recent projects in this field are the work on the Baix Llobregat purifying station in Catalonia, the Cuenca Media Alta de Arroyo de Culebro purifying station and the extension work on the Soto-Gutierrez, Edar Butarque and Sur stations in Madrid, the extension of the Castellón purifying station and the construction, running and maintenance of the Azuqueca purifying station in the province of Guadalajara.

Cadagua, the Spanish leader in engineering, construction and running of all types of water treatment plants, obtained revenues in excess of over Ptas 13.3 billion in 1999 and its order book currently amounts to Ptas 72 billion.
