Ferrovial renews its agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MITEI) until 2020 to continue supporting investigation and innovation projects in energy with the aim of transforming cities and developing infrastructure of the future.
In line with its open innovation strategy, Ferrovial has renewed its agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a further five years (until 2020), to support research projects aimed at transforming cities and developing the infrastructures of the future, as a sustaining member of the MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI).
“By renewing our agreement with the MITEI, we are entering into a partnership to develop energy innovation projects that benefit both the company and society,” explains Federico Flórez, General Manager of Information and Innovation Systems.
With this agreement, Ferrovial will support several research projects promoted by this prestigious academic institution. These projects will help to increase its scientific and technical knowledge and helps us face the company's energy challenges.
Between 2011 and 2015, Ferrovial developed 11 projects which focused on the areas of construction, cities, infrastructure, water treatment, waste treatment and energy efficiency, among others. The results of these projects were positive for the business.
