The president of Ferrovial’s Polish subsidiary Budimex, Dariusz Blocher, has won the title of President of the Year 2016. The prestigious distinction came in the form of a Bulls and Bears statue from Parkiet, a Polish newspaper which focuses on business and financial news from the Polish capital market.
The awards ceremony for the competition, now in its 23rd edition, took place on 15th March at the headquarters of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Winners were voted for by the most experienced editors and journalists from Parkiet
Shortly after announcing the winner, Parkiet posted on their Twitter:
“He has his way of dealing with stagnation in the industry. The Company has great results. The President of the Year is Dariusz Blocher”.

Upon receiving the award, the president Blocher gave thanks to all of the Budimex employees, commenting that,
“Success requires years of work, I would not receive this award without Budimex employees.”
In addition, he added that Budimex currently constructs every 4th kilometre of motorways in Poland. He emphasized that fact that the company is among top 20 CIT payers and since 2011, has continued to be part of the Respect Index of socially responsible companies.
