Lleida Airport

FerroNATS, Spain’s premier commercial air traffic control operator, has begun operations in Lleida-Alguaire airport, part of the network handled by the public entity Aeroports de Catalunya, which in turn is overseen by the Catalan parliament, the Generalitat. This brings the number of control towers operated by FerroNATS to 11, a figure that will increase to 13 in the coming months with the addition of the Andorra airport, La Seu d’Urgell, also administered by the Catalan airport body, and Murcia Regional International Airport, part of the Aena network.

Operation of the Lleida tower commences just one month after FerroNATS began providing Córdoba Airport with aerodrome flight information (AFIS), which offers data on weather, the status of radio and other navigational aids and the presence of airplanes, vehicles or other obstacles on the ground.

Over the 2017-2018 winter season Lleida-Alguaire airport registered the second highest figures in the last seven years, with more than 26,000 passengers passing through the facility between December and April.
