- Grupa Budimex will be giving a total of almost 3 million zloty to aid the fight against the coronavirus.
- Aid is extended to include nursing homes and local governments.
Budimex and Fundacja Jesteśmy Razem – Pomagamy have so far supported over 20 hospitals all over Poland in their fight against the coronavirus, by providing financial and in-kind aid. Budimex has extended this help to nursing homes and the smallest territorial units (gminas). The total amount allocated by Grupa Budimex to fight the coronavirus is almost 3 million zloty. In the next few weeks, support will be given to ten more facilities.
In May alone, Grupa Budimex gave hospitals and institutions dealing with the pandemic almost half a million zlotys. Financial support was distributed among seven more hospitals, two nursing homes and three local gminas where companies from our Group undertake construction activities (Budimex SA and Mostostal Kraków), engage in property development (Budimex Nieruchomości) and provide services (FB Serwis).
The number of cases was growing the fastest in these regions. Now we are focusing on supporting hospitals and nursing homes, especially in areas where the number of cases is rising the fastest at the moment. Our construction sites can be found all over Poland. We feel jointly responsible for the fates of thousands of people affected by the epidemic. For years, Budimex has treated social responsibility very seriously. Budimex also supports the activities of Fundacja “Jesteśmy razem. POMAGAMY”. It all began with a campaign under the same name, initiated by Polish businessmen at the beginning of the pandemic. Companies began to join forces to collect as much money as possible to help hospitals. This spontaneous initiative gave rise to a dynamic foundation, which has raised almost 50 million zloty so far.
Aid has already been transferred to hospitals and nursing homes in Kraków, Warsaw, Wałbrzych, Racibórz, Łódź, Puławy, Żyrardów, Sochaczew, Suwałki, Łańcut, Poznań, Sanniki and Wrocław. The total to be allocated by Grupa Budimex to fight the coronavirus is almost 3 million zloty. Moreover, Budimex has helped with construction works for two hospitals so they can admit patients with the coronavirus. Budimex also provides in-kind aid, i.e. masks, protective clothing and antiseptic
