Last September Polígono Industrial de Granadilla S.A. awarded the construction of the Project which includes the completion of the outfall pipeline and the new wastewater treatment plant of the Industrial Zone named “Polígono Industrial de Granadilla” in Tenerife, Canary Islands.
The works for the new plant will cover the civil works, electromechanical equipment’s erection, commissioning and performance tests. The capacity of the plant is 1.120 m3/d. The process has inlet works with coarse and fine screening followed by FOG & grit removal channel as core pretreatment. After that, there are either buffer tank and a homogenization tank plus quarantine tank whenever is identified a potential harmful spillage in the inlet works. For that purpose, specific online instrumentation is installed in the pretreatment.
There will be a lamella decanter after a coagulation and flocculation chamber to reduce the load in case high load come from the industrial area. This physical and chemical process can be bypassed in case not necessary and to lead the water directly to secondary treatment which consist in a biological reactor with nitrogen removal and secondary clarifiers . The facilities will be completed with a sludge treatment with gravity sludge thickener, centrifugal decanter and a solar greenhouse dryer capable to achieve lower level of humidity of sludge to meet the disposal requirements.
With this new project awarded, Cadagua strengthens its position in Canary Islands and builds trust with the customer in the region.
