Texas Department of Transportation contract includes widening of 8 miles of US 281 from Loop 1604 to Borgfeld Drive in Bexar County north of San Antonio, TX.
Houston, TX, February 26, 2017 – Webber, LLC has been selected by the Texas Department of Transportation to widen the US 281 corridor. The project involves construction of non-toll General Purpose Lanes, HOV/Transit Lanes and frontage roads. Bicycle and pedestrian facilities will also be provided. The project was bid at $192 million and is scheduled to be completed within three years.
The work will also include adding a direct connection to the new VIA Metropolitan Transit US 281, two general purpose lanes and one HOV lane in each direction, and four interchange direct connectors at Loop 1604.
