Australia's Finance Minister, Mathias Cormann, has announced a deal with Broadspectrum, the Australia-New Zealand arm of Ferrovial Services, to maintain 37 Australian government buildings over the next four years.
In addition to improving efficiency in facility maintenance, the Australian government wishes to increase the representation of indigenous peoples and the involvement of small and medium-sized enterprises. In this connection, Broadspectrum has set a target of 6.5% indigenous employees by 2018, to support the Australian government and help it meet its goals for indigenous employment.
Broadspectrum Property’s Head of Corporate Real Estate, Emma Forster, said:
“We are proud to be partnering with the Commonwealth to deliver national corporate real estate services which will achieve strong performance and financial outcomes for Government along with deeper community and indigenous engagement. We are pleased to be working with Colliers International as a key subcontractor in the delivery of services.”
