Cintra has been recognized with the Asia Pacific Deal of the Year award bestowed by IJ Global for Toowoomba Second Range Crossing project. This is the second major award obtained by this highway this year.
The highway was awarded 2016 Best Road Project by Partnerships Awards and 2015 Road Deal of the Year by Project Finance International (PFI) recently.
Nexus Infrastructure CEO, John Hagan, said he was pleased to receive global recognition for the work by Nexus consortium partners. “The Toowoomba Second Range Crossing is an exciting project and to have it recognised as the best deal in Asia Pacific last year is a great achievement by all Nexus consortium partners”, commented.
The project is the largest Australian Government commitment to a single road project in Queensland’s history. It includes the construction of 41 kilometers of new highway and involves a beltway in the city of Toowoomba, which will notably improve traffic conditions in the region. It will help to reduce congestion in Toowoomba Central Business District, diverting heavy vehicles from local streets, improving efficiency and driver safety.
The concession will have a duration of 25 years from the opening to traffic, planned for late 2018.
