Ferrovial participates in International Women’s Day by reaffirming our commitment to equal opportunities by joining the international solidarity movement HeForShe

On International Women’s Day, Íñigo Meirás, CEO of Ferrovial, joins along with the Steering Committee, the HeForShe international solidarity movement for gender equality and invites all employees to join this voluntary initiative promoted by UN Women, “I believe that the road to real equality should be travelled by men and women together so I encourage you to join this commitment and spread it through different social networks.”

The goal of this movement is to involve men and boys as advocates and agents of change in achieving equality and women’s rights, thus forging a common vision of human progress for everyone.

For Ferrovial promoting gender equality is one of the priorities of the company’s diversity and inclusion strategy. As has been reflected through the Voluntary Agreement signed with the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality to increase the presence of women in management positions and steering committees. Various initiatives have also been launched in Spain since 2009 with the aim of achieving a working environment that offers equal opportunities while prioritising merit and talent, contained in the Equality Plans agreed with the main trade union federations of Ferrovial companies of more than 250 workers and have been recently renewed until 2018.

In 2010 and in recognition of all the steps taken to promote equal opportunities, the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality awarded Ferrovial S.A. the Badge of Equality that has been renewed every year to date.
