The CI3 Foundation and the Town Council of Guadalajara (Spain) recently held a conference on H2020 Calls: Opportunities for enterprises in Guadalajara.
The event was organised by CI3 and the Guadalajara Town Council, with support from Ferrovial, the BIC/CEEI Guadalajara, the CDTI and the Smart Energy Campus of Excellence of the Alcalá and Rey Juan Carlos universities, with the aim of providing companies with information on the opportunities provided by the European Commission within the framework of the Horizon 2020 programme, through cooperation with the CDTI and other funding entities such as the CI3 Foundation, to secure funding for R&D projects.
Present at the event were Francisco Úbeda, councillor for the environment at the Guadalajara Town Council, who opened the event; Rafael Fando, general manager of CI3 who introduced the foundation; Javier Garcia Serrano, head of the industrial leadership department at the CDTI, who explained the institutional support provided by the CDTI to companies and entities participating in European projects; and Pablo Hyam, technical manager at CI3, who explained the opportunities provided by the H2020 programme to companies looking to access funding.
Pablo Fernandez (CI3) talked then of the participation of Ferrovial Agroman and CI3 Foundation in the IoRL (Internet of Radio Light) H2020 project; whilst Iker Guinea (CI3) and Leire Merle (Indra) explained the H2020 “Transforming Transport” project led by Indra and implemented together with Cintra, Ferrovial Agroman and CI3.
The event ended with a speech by Mª del Mar Gómez Zamora, from the Rey Juan Carlos University, consultant at H2020-EIC-FTI-2018-2020 and technical manager for the Smart Energy International Campus of Excellence.
About the Centre for Innovation on Smart Infrastructures
The Centre for Innovation on Smart Infrastructures (CI3) is a general interest, not-for-profit foundation the aim of which is to contribute to the development and promotion of information and communication technologies and their application to infrastructures. The Centre has three founding trustees: Ferrovial, the Castilla-La Mancha Regional Community (JCCM) and the University of Alcalá.
