Ferrovial Services and
Renault present
ZITY, the new carsharing service in Madrid, which will begin operating in December. It will initially be available within the perimeter of the M30, with other areas outside the ring road being added subsequently. Javier Mateos, Managing Director of the new company, explained:
“In a first stage, this new service will have a fleet of 500 electric cars. We will be starting a test stage in November, with several vehicles in operation.”

The service will be provided with the
ZOE Z.E. 40 electric car, which has a certified range of
400 kilometres, thus allowing users to extend both
journeys and
duration of use of the vehicles. Moreover, the cars have a capacity for
five passengers and a
large boot. These cars have a 5-star ranking from
EURO NCAP –
the maximum ranking available in terms of safety, as well as a guarantee that all the energy used to recharge the cars comes from
100% renewable resources.
The project combines the capacities of
Ferrovial in the provision of urban services and development of environmentally friendly solutions, and the experience of
Renault, as the leading seller of electric vehicles in Spain and Europe and a benchmark for sustainable mobility.
