Ferrovial Servicios to perform the street cleaning and solid urban waste collection in Santurce, Vizcaya
Ferrovial Servicios (Ferroser), a firm in the Ferrovial Group specialised in management of urban services, has been awarded the concession for street cleaning and solid urban waste collection in the Santurce area of Vizcaya. The 1,400 million peseta contract amounts has a four-year concession term.
This contract reinforces the presence of Ferroser in Vizcaya and furthers the concessions the company manages in the areas of Barakaldo, Basauri, Durango, Bérriz and the centre of Mercabilbao; contracts that, overall, amount to 8,800 million pesetas and provide service to a population exceeding 250,000 inhabitants.
Ferroser, along with the local Serbitzu Elkartea and Samos, presented a bid that was a technical improvement on that by the rest of the companies, among them Urbaser and Cepsa, which provided the service in that area of Vizcaya until now.
More than 85,000 million in portfolio
Ferroser has the concession of services for more than 90 municipalities – among them Corunna, Huelva, Ubeda, Estepona, Nijar, etc. – and provides service to a population of over one and a half million inhabitants. Ferroser, which has already begun its expansion abroad by opening a branch in Portugal, has a portfolio of services pending completion exceeding 85,000 million pesetas.
