- Ferrovial Construction will build one of the most advanced data centers in terms of sustainability, in San Sebastian de los Reyes (Madrid)
- The new Data Center will be a world reference for its reliability and energy efficiency characteristics.
Ferrovial, through its subsidiary, Ferrovial Construcción, has been selected by Microsoft to carry out the construction of one of the Data Centers that the company will develop in Spain, within the framework of the strategic agreement signed by both companies at the beginning of the year.
This agreement included the joint work of both companies in the digitalization of Ferrovial’s operations; the search for new forms of construction for the optimization of Microsoft’s data centers; and the development of innovative technological initiatives and solutions that enable sustainable development and a future of zero net emissions in the construction and infrastructure management market.
To carry it out, the strictest sustainability criteria have been followed in its design and construction, which is why it has the Leed Gold certification granted by the Green Building Council. In this sense, the data center is focused on achieving significant reductions in energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the most efficient way compared to traditional Data Centers.
Ferrovial has extensive experience in the construction of this type of facility, having carried out projects of these characteristics for companies such as Telefónica, as well as several leading financial companies, among others.
